CNC Machinist We are seeking a motivated individual to learn and operate up to six automated CNC machines used to sharpen carbide saw blades. This position plays a critical role in maintaining quality, productivity, and safety in our manufacturing process. Responsibilities Operate and monitor CNC machines to sharpen carbide saw blades according to print specifications. Inspect blades during and after processing to ensure they meet quality standards. Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, greasing, and replacing cutting wheels. Maintain smooth workflow by ensuring proper material flow through the production area. Accurately complete all required production and quality control documentation. Communicate material shortages to appropriate team members promptly. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 6S and housekeeping standards. Follow all safety procedures and uphold company policies and ethical standards. Essential Skills Ability to operate and monitor automated CNC machines. Understanding of general machinery and production processes. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools for quality control. Strong focus on producing high-quality work and inspecting parts to meet specifications. ITD - CNC Machinist Job Overview: CNC Machinists are skilled in setup, programming, and operation of CNC machine tools and the development of fixture placement and tooling processes. They possess the skills of a setup technician operation and programmer. They may specialize in the use of any type or multiple types of CNC machine tools. They will study printing, selection of material, establish plans for machining operations, understand machine programming languages, and have skill using computer aided manufacturing software. This position requires an individual to read and understand blueprints, sketches, and samples to accurately machine parts to customer specifications. Some light duty lifting required and using a hoist to install vises, jigs, fixtures, and heavy work pieces onto the mill or lathe for machining. Use precision measuring equipment with both hands to accurately machine parts. Operating the controls of the mill or lathe with both hands to remove material from parts in conjunction with the specs and accuracy required for specific job. Check lubricating fluid and fill as necessary. Clean mill and lathe work area as needed and at the end of each shift. Prior Lathe or Milling experience preferred. Must be able to use micrometers, calipers, and t-gauges...bench and disc sanders...horizontal and vertical bandsaws.LATHE OPERATION: Holding parts, tooling/sharpening, setup, cutting speeds and feeds, 4-jaw chuck, precision machining (.0001), cutting threads.MILLING OPERATION: Use of mill, attachments, cutters and holders, cutter RPM and feed rates, mill flat surfaces, squaring parts, milling grooves, drilling, and tapping, boring, dividing or indexing head, setting up angles.Position must also be able to identify types of metal and other material, understand CAD drawings and be able to sketch a part.
