Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Financial Controller to oversee our finance and accounting operations. In this vital role, you will supervise a team to ensure accurate and efficient processing of payroll, client invoicing, accounts payable, cash receipts, and disbursements. Additionally, you'll serve as a senior-level mentor for accounting practices across our department, driving process improvements to support the growth of MasTec Renewables. Location: This onsite position is based in our office in Clinton, Indiana, which is a short commute from Terre Haute. We offer relocation assistance for this position! This role is also eligible for a vehicle allowance and an annual incentive program. Responsibilities: • Direct and oversee accounting functions within MasTec. • Assist VP Finance and CFO with strategic direction and tactical initiatives. • Implement financial and tax strategies while ensuring compliance with accounting policies. • Coordinate month-end closings and prepare financial reporting packages. • Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls and manage audits. • Review and approve daily accounting transactions and manage forecasting and budgeting processes. • Delegate responsibilities effectively to the accounting management team. • Provide mentorship and lead the accounting staff, addressing complaints and resolving issues. • Enhance efficiency and streamline accounting processes across the organization. Qualifications: • Ten years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Prior experience as a Corporate Controller or subsidiary controller is preferred. • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA certification is a plus. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • Understanding of construction accounting and revenue recognition. • Exceptional computer skills, particularly in Excel. • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail. • Proven leadership abilities in mentoring and developing accounting staff. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
