The company, based in Madrid (Spain), is seeking a full-time Senior Renewable Energy Consultant to play a key role in developing innovative energy projects across the globe Job Description You will be working with our diverse team of international energy sector consultants and professional staff in the areas/tasks listed below. • Lead and deliver consulting assignments in renewable energy planning, project evaluation, and strategy development for public and private sector clients. • Conduct technical and economic analyses of renewable energy projects and systems, including feasibility studies, energy yield assessments, and investment appraisals. • Develop integrated energy models, scenario analyses, and policy simulations to support energy transition strategies and decarbonization pathways. • Provide expert input on regulatory and policy frameworks affecting renewable energy deployment, including support schemes, market design, and pricing mechanisms. • Support utility-scale, distributed, and off-grid energy project development through strategic advisory, due diligence, and stakeholder engagement. • Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and deliverables to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and partners. • Oversee project delivery timelines, budget management, and quality assurance, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business. • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, global best practices, and market trends to inform project work and internal capability development. Qualifications Required Experience & Knowledge: • 5-10 years' experience in the renewable energy sector, including consulting, project development, energy modeling, or policy analysis. • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, renewable energy policy, and power sector reform-particularly in emerging markets. • Strong expertise in energy system modelling, renewable project evaluation, and techno-economic analysis of solar, wind, storage, and hybrid systems. • Proven experience delivering advisory services in areas such as renewable integration, grid planning, power system analysis, energy policy, or tariff design. • Familiarity with sector-specific datasets (e.g., load profiles, irradiance, wind resource data) and tools for energy simulations and optimization (e.g., HOMER, PVSyst, SAM, EnergyPLAN). • Proficiency in quantitative tools and programming languages such as Python, R, Excel/VBA, or MATLAB for modeling and data analysis, is desired. • Experience with financial modeling, LCOE, NPV, IRR, and sensitivity/risk analysis for renewable projects. • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with the capacity to interpret technical and economic findings into clear, actionable strategies. • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical content to non-technical stakeholders and high-level decision-makers. • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing client relationships. • Line or team management experience, with responsibility for mentoring and developing junior staff. Qualifications: • MSc or equivalent in Renewable Energy, Power Systems, Energy Economics, Engineering, or a related field. Additional qualifications in energy policy or finance are an advantage. • Deep knowledge of renewable energy technologies, energy markets, and sustainable development strategies. • Technical proficiency in energy modeling and analysis software/tools relevant to renewable systems and power sector planning. • Strong consulting acumen with the ability to synthesize complex data and policy contexts into actionable recommendations. • Proven experience working with government agencies, utilities, IPPs, or international development institutions on energy-related projects. • Ability to lead and manage complex projects across geographies and stakeholders, delivering results under tight timelines.
