Overview: Our client is seeking a motivated Senior Renewable Energy Project Developer to lead and deliver utility-scale solar and wind projects, driving progress to address climate change. This role requires a skilled professional with a proven ability to manage teams, delegate effectively, and advance projects through every stage of development. Key Responsibilities • Project diligence and development leadership and execution • Lead and actively participate in all phases of utility-scale solar and wind project diligence and development, including site selection, permitting, interconnection, financing, and procurement planning. • Provide expertise and mentorship to the team, serving as a go-to resource for development questions and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. • Collaborate with senior leadership, including the company founder, to tackle challenging development issues and advance project strategies. • Manage project schedules, budgets, and risks to ensure timely, high-quality delivery. • Oversee contract negotiation and relationship management with landowners, regulatory agencies, contractors, and investors. • Commercial leadership and execution • Manage the company’s business development process including client discovery process, solution structuring, proposal development, contracting, and contract management • Support Principal and CFO in developing business level solution structure and pricing strategies • Lead generation is handled separately, and the responsibility of this role is to manage the process after the potential client is engaged in initial discussions Qualifications • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in utility-scale solar and/or battery/wind energy development, with experience successfully advancing a project through financial close and tax equity financing. • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, fostering collaboration and strong performance. • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team of developers. • Willingness and ability to travel as required to support project development. • Preference for candidates with experience in campaigns or cause-related work, such as PIRG or other non-profit initiatives.
