Senior Project manager - Construction Renewables

We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Sr. Director of Program Management to lead and establish our utility-scale repowering program. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for building and developing the repowering function into a sustainable business. This position will develop repowering strategy and processes across multiple business channels including internal fleet upgrades, repowering as a commercial service offering, and integration of repowering in M&A opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring deep program management expertise, cross-functional leadership, and a strong understanding of renewable energy infrastructure. You will lead a team of cross-functional professionals across the business. This position will oversee initial pilot repowering efforts from initiation through completion and be responsible for coordinating planning, scheduling, budget controls, risk mitigation, incentive planning, and financial return realization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Establish and lead the company’s repowering strategy and program for utility-scale solar assets. • Define repowering program scope, goals, and deliverables aligned with corporate strategy and objectives. • Develop and present business cases for repowering initiatives by analyzing target markets and competitive environment. • Establish a repowering playbook consisting of documented and repeatable processes for future repowering efforts. • Manage day-to-day aspects of initial repowering projects by effectively applying methodologies that enforce project standards and minimize exposure to project risks. • Coordinate and lead cross-functional program and project teams across engineering, finance, legal, tax, procurement, construction, accounting, and operations teams. • Establish repowering roles and responsibilities across the business. • Track and report on program and project performance and milestones utilizing thorough and thoughtful stakeholder management and communications. • Create schedules, checklists, RACIs, and other program and project documents. • Support and evaluate repowering as a service offering for external clients and actively partake in business development of the repowering program. • Support additional strategic initiatives and special projects assigned by executive leadership. • Navigate complex regulatory and legal requirements to ensure incentive strategies and optimal returns. Skills: • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional programs, preferably in the solar energy or infrastructure sector. • Deep understanding of program management methodologies. • Strong financial acumen with experience in business case development, capital planning, and tax equity investment strategies. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct leadership authority. • Experienced in process creation, process documentation, and continuous improvement methodologies. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal direction. • Deep understanding of program risk management and mitigation strategies. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred) • 15-20 years of Program Management experience, preferably in renewables, energy, or infrastructure • Knowledge of tax equity financing structures and renewable energy tax credits preferred • Experience with repowering, asset optimization, or lifecycle extension strategies is highly desirable • PMI/PMP certification • Experience and proficiency with MS Office including MS Excel and MS Word • Solid knowledge and understanding of key value drivers for renewable power projects and developer/owner/operator company objectives • Strong oral and written communication, project management, leadership, and team-building skills, including experience working with cross-functional internal and external technical advisors and stakeholders
