ERSG is currently recruiting for a Community and Industry Engagement Associate for a large offshore wind project that will be constructed and installed off the coast of New York/New Jersey. It will be in Atlantic City, New Jersey with visits to Brooklyn, NY and Boston, MA. Things to keep in mind: • This is a 1–2-year long contract with the likelihood of extension or going direct. • It will be in Brooklyn, NY on a hybrid basis, so we are looking for someone who is within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (unfortunately there is no relocation package available). • This position is only available to candidates who have the right to immediately work in the US and do not need sponsorship. • You will become eligible for health/vision/dental insurance after 30 days of employment, after 12 months of employment you will become eligible for 401K with a 4% match, and from day one you will have 20 days of PTO. Scope of Job: The JV is seeking a highly motivated individual to work with our team to support the Community and Industry Engagement Manager and the Development Team to help drive community engagement strategies for the JV and its associated portfolio of mid-Atlantic offshore wind projects. We are looking for an organized and enthusiastic individual to support event production and external event coordination for events that will have a positive effect on the industry and communities within which the project operates. As a member of the Development Team, this role will work with various departments across the organization, multiple consultants, and will interface with various stakeholders in New Jersey, New York, and across the industry. The Community and Industry Engagement Associate will be particularly focused on event coordination, support and implementation, including activities hosted in the Educational and Community Outreach (ECO) Center. The goal of these external engagement activities will be focused on fostering brand recognition and positioning the JV/Project as an industry leader, and to support education and training, community engagement and philanthropy. This role will also include supporting the project’d hosted industry and community events with key stakeholders supporting that support the execution of the offshore wind project’s initiatives initiatives (e.g., scientific, education, workforce/labor) as well as supporting programs/trainings/exhibitions at our Education and Outreach Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. These events must embody the core values of the JV: Safety, Being a Good Neighbor, Leading with Science and Being Good Stewards of our Environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have some experience with program coordination or events, and have a curiosity and strong interest in clean energy. Responsibilities: 25% Management Support • Responsible for supporting the Sr. Community and Industry Engagement Manager and external affairs initiatives, including the implementation of work plans, timelines, specific products to be completed, budget and payment tracking, and individual responsibilities. • Tracking the impact of the initiatives and programs. • Other duties as assigned. 70% External Events and Engagement • Support implementing External Affairs strategic plans, especially around events. • Ensure commitments are met in regard to strategic partnerships, memberships, sponsorships and conference opportunities: • Track and coordinate deliverables such as advertisements, booth presence, thought leadership, logos, social posts, and payments. • Maintain engagement tools, supplies and materials such as handouts, giveaways, and virtual reality headsets. • Promote events internally and recruit staff participation as needed. • Support the project’s hosted event and conference development: • Help track project timelines, expenditures, and deliverables. • Support onsite implementation, such as table and booth setups. • Prepare staff coordination communications. • Coordinate operations including sourcing and negotiating vendors/consultants and promotional activities for the event. • Analyze the event’s success and prepare reports. • Work collaboratively with the Management Team, Project Team(s), parent company corporate branding and communications teams and others to deliver consistent, high-energy, authentic and impactful stakeholder experiences. • Help monitor successful programs from other states/counties and countries. • Support other team members on outreach where needed. 5% - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • BSc/BA in PR, communications, marketing, hospitality management or related field is preferred. • At least 2 years office work experience, no experience in energy required but a curiosity and eagerness to learn. • Experience working in events, renewable energy, New Jersey, or New York is highly desirable. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: • Proven experience designing and executing strategic events/initiatives • Skilled in project management • Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and marketing techniques for event management • Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office • Experience with a CRM system desirable • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability • Excellent organizational skills and a knack for problem-solving • Comfortable in supporting other team members in their external facing roles. • An innate level of comfort in conducting publicly facing activities. • Operating style suited to working in a small team environment where teamwork, creativity and flexibility are valued. Physical Requirements: Ability to travel every month to a parent office for 3-5 days at a time. Travel to events will also be required on an as needed basis but may include up to 1 event per week at certain times of year. Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Travel includes visits to stakeholder events, other offices, industry conferences and other locations appropriate for the development function. Will spend time in meetings related to strategic planning, financial reviews, and special projects; meetings with potential organizational partners and key stakeholder representatives, and others related to/interested in the offshore wind industry.
