Ferrous Processing and Trading, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cleveland-Cliffs Inc., has an immediate opportunity for a Welder at our Pontiac operation. The Welder is responsible for repairs, fabricating, and assembling custom-designed equipment. Summary of Responsibilities: • Weld metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes. • Read blueprints and drawings. • Take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures. • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps. • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws. • Proficiency with basic machine tools. • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety while working in full compliance with approved safety regulations. Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma/GED. • 3-5 years of welding experience. • Strong math skills and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings, pneumatic and electric engineering drawings are a plus. • Must be able to pass a hands-on welding test. • Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs. • Pre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required.
