Welding Welder Manual / Mig

Position Summary The Touch-Up Manual Welder is responsible for performing precise manual welding operations to correct and refine welds on automotive parts and assemblies that have been flagged for defects or quality improvements. This role supports production quality standards by ensuring that all welded components meet specifications before moving forward in the manufacturing process. Key Responsibilities • Inspect welded components for visual or dimensional defects. • Perform touch-up and repair welding using MIG and/or TIG welding techniques as required. • Follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and welding symbols to complete assignments accurately. • Operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently. • Grind, clean, or prep surfaces as necessary prior to welding or rework. • Record completed repairs and communicate defects or recurring issues to supervisors and quality personnel. • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards. • Assist with general welding tasks and support production teams as needed. • Adhere to all plant safety, quality, and production policies and procedures. Qualifications • High school diploma or GED required. • Minimum 1–2 years of manual welding experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive industry preferred. • Proficient in MIG welding; TIG welding experience is a plus. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols. • Strong attention to detail and quality focus. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapt to shifting production priorities. Preferred Certifications • AWS Welding Certification or equivalent (preferred but not required). • Forklift or overhead crane certification (a plus depending on plant operations).
