Fitter/Welder

The Kelly Group is seeking a Fitter/Welder for its Decatur, Illinois, location and work in the surrounding area. Candidates should own their own hand tools and have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working with process pipe, preferably in the grain industry. MIG and TIG Welder - A-Lert Construction Services

Job Summary: A-Lert Construction Services is hiring MIG and TIG welders to join the team in our Decatur, IL Shop. You must be able to set up the equipment and clamp, grind, or bolt the materials into the proper position before welding. You will also inspect the final products for quality, so you should be able to read and interpret blueprints and other technical drawings. Applicants must be able to pass an MIG weld test. Primary Duties: • Set up welding equipment • Weld steel and aluminum according to blueprints • Clamp, grind, tack-weld, or bolt components into position before welding • Inspect final products for quality standards • Troubleshoot issues with welding equipment • Maintain a clean and safe work area Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED certificate • Credentialed MIG welders preferred • At least one year MIG welding experience • Physically must be able to : See detail in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes or shadings; and work easily and skillfully with hands. Lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Stand for long periods. Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to reach hard to get at work areas; and use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects.
