Technician, Maintenance (Pipefitter/Welding) 1

This position reports to Maintenance Supervisor and is located in Borger, Texas What you will do: • Ensuring safe and efficient work practices such as, housekeeping, tool care, permitting, WHAT cards and productivity • Following and adhering to all safety policies, procedures, performing JTO's, participating by entering near misses, reporting incidents, and attending safety meetings as required • Performing daily maintenance by welding, cutting, reading drawings, layout, bolting and maintaining stationary equipment • Performing daily and routine preventative maintenance (PMs) as required Performing Pipe Fitter Welding work including major overhauls of equipment Documenting repairs and reliability information on equipment • Following written procedures and completing detailed checklist • Working closely with contractors, vendors, and internal departments to develop PM standards on equipment • Attending and completing required training internally and externally specific to job skills as required • Operate mobile equipment as required • Deliver quality work with limited supervision • Work outside scheduled hours (including holidays) as needed to ensure plant reliability • Complete work in plant environment in all weather conditions What you will bring: • Minimum 1-year industrial pipefitting/welding experience required, 3 or more years preferred • Highschool diploma or equivalent • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license • Specific working knowledge of all types of welding, cutting, blueprint reading, layout and bolting, interpreting drawings & IOM's • High level of skill in the use of all types welding techniques and ASME welding standards • Thorough knowledge of various metals characteristic and qualities including the correct welding processes required and the effects of welding on the material preferred • Troubleshooting and analytical ability • Working knowledge of computer systems and data management systems including SAP and Microsoft Office Suite preferred • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment & obtain certifications • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. on a daily basis • Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders 40-50' in height Ready to make an impact with us? Rig Welder-Austin Industrial-NO PER DIEM

Welder - Rig This person must be able to join metal parts, such as pipe or metal plates as specified by layout, blueprints, work orders, welding procedures or oral instructions through the application of heat or electric arc-welding equipment. Other duties may be assigned. MUST HAVE YOUR OWN RIG. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: • Uses spot welding gun or hand, electric, or gas welding equipment to weld or tack weld pieces together. • Unites pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas and turns valves to release mixture. • Reaching expected temperature, size, and color of flame by burning torch and adjusting flow of gas and air. • Preheats work pieces for the preparation of welding or curving, using torch. • Fills holes or corrects mistakes in lead pieces and makes bulges thin and curves in metal work pieces. • Checks the weakness of work pieces and measures work pieces with straightedge or template to ensure the piece meets specifications. • Climbs up ladders or works on scaffolds to take apart textures. • Gives signal to crane operator to lift large work pieces. • Uses thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment to dismount metal assemblies or cut scrap metal. • Uses hoist, crane, wire and banding machine, or hand tools to place and protect work pieces. • In order to protect the torch chooses place of weld based on type, thickness, area, and expected temperature of metal. • Instructs and brings flame or electrodes on or across work piece to straighten, curve, dissolve, or develop metal. • Joins pieces together, covers up taut points, and adds metal to develop parts. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required for this Position: Education – no minimum education requirements. Experience – 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience. POSITION TYPE: Full-Time Faculty LOCATION: Borger Campus POSITION POSTED: August 31, 2023 DESCRIPTION: Frank Phillips College is searching for a qualified individual who will teach the art and skill of welding through various means, including hands-on, verbal communication, pictures, etc. A qualified candidate must be able to pass a craft welding test and teach to that level in all commonly used industrial processes, including SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, oxy-fuel welding, brazing, and cutting, along with the craft-level use and maintenance of carbon arc gouging, plasma cutting, welding, and associated equipment.
