Overview: Join us as a Renewable Energy Commissioning Manager, where you will take charge of managing the commissioning phase of Photovoltaic plants. Your primary goal will be to ensure the successful handover of these plants by leading, planning, and overseeing construction projects all the way from the completion of construction through pre-operation testing and commissioning. Location & Travel Details: This is a traveling position (up to 100%), where you will be onsite at various project locations throughout the US. Expect to be stationed on a project site for an average of 8-12 months. We offer a designated daily per diem in addition to base pay to assist with living expenses, and you will have the opportunity for routine travel home (rotation) from the job site. A company vehicle, fuel card, and purchase card will be provided. Responsibilities: • Lead the commissioning of utility-scale solar projects while promoting and adhering to all Company safety policies and procedures. • Prepare detailed commissioning schedules for each project, covering everything from cold commissioning to final testing. • Determine the size and responsibilities of the commissioning team for each site. • Cultivate supervisory responsibilities in alignment with organizational policies and local laws. • Draft and manage commissioning documents in compliance with contractual obligations. • Organize necessary commissioning documents and keep them systematically filed. • Oversee third-party testing as required. • Review and verify completed testing documentation. • Maintain accurate records and essential paperwork throughout the job. • Make well-considered key decisions and ensure project completion by the established deadline. • Analyze productivity and communicate improvements effectively. • Maintain discipline across the job site and present a professional appearance. • Communicate effectively with large employee groups, clients, and engineers. • Conduct interviews, hire, and train direct reports. • Plan, assign, and direct work while appraising performance and addressing any employee issues as necessary. • Collaborate with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Supervisor to ensure safety protocols are followed on-site. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • A minimum of five years of experience in a supervisory role. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Commit to the health and safety of yourself and others, striving for Wanzek's Zero Injury principles. • Strong organizational, instructional, and supervisory skills for Commissioning crews. • Ability to commission and startup plant components following manuals. • Capable of forecasting and monitoring commissioning time and costs. • Considerable knowledge of commissioning tools, machinery, methods, and safety requirements. • Experience overseeing testing, commissioning, and startups of electrical and electronic systems. • Strong leadership and communication skills essential for motivating teams. • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and project management practices. • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to interpret technical documents.
