USA - Sheet Metal Operator

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Performs assigned tasks under the direction and guidance of the department Lead Hand • Assemble panels under the direction of the Sr. Sheet Metal Operator and/or the department Lead Hand • Install assemblies, such as flashing, wall panels, insulation, and heating & air conditioning ducts in supportive frameworks as instructed • Drill and punch holes in metal, for screws, bolts, and rivets. • Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts, using hand tools and portable power tools as directed • Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position. ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES • Produce high quality of work with zero non conformances • Meet project deadlines as assigned • Work in a safe manner following Health & Safety policies and procedures • Maintain an excellent attendance & punctuality record EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Possess a suitable combination of education and experience to meet the requirements of this position • Minimum of 1 – 3 years sheet metal experience is preferred • Must be able to work with various hand tools and operate an industrial powered fork truck • Demonstrated proficiency reading and interpreting work orders and drawings. • Able to work independently or as a team player • Able to take direction and communicate with others • Have excellent time management skills, organized and detail oriented • Employ a friendly, outgoing personality, respectful of co-workers and ability to work with individuals to carry out goals of the organization PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that are expected for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Perform work standing up in work cell for 8-10 hours per day. • The employee frequently is required to stand; walk ; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. • The employee must frequently lift and/or move material during the course of performing his/her job • The employee will have to frequently use ladders and work at a variety of heights • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants pay will be evaluated on their individual experience in sheet metal and welding. If an applicant has at least five years of documented experience he or she will be taken in as a Journeyperson and will be paid up to $30.50 an hour. Applicants with no experience will be able to enroll in our apprenticeship free of charge. The apprenticeship pay starts at $19.07 and raises of $1.43 will be given every six months if the apprentice attends class as required and completes the work in that time period.
