Pope Duties • Aircraft Inspection and Repair: Independently inspects aircraft, determines repair needs using technical orders, and works directly on aircraft components, including removal, repair, modification, and installation of parts such as frames, stringers, bulkheads, and more. May clear red "X" conditions. • Crack Repairs and Fabrication: Repairs cracks in aircraft skin, fabricates patches, and fits components like landing gear doors and control surfaces. Seals structures to ensure pressure, water, and weather tightness. • Structural Troubleshooting: Troubleshoots structural issues in fuselage, tails, wings, and stabilizers.
