Summary/Objective This position is responsible for completing tasks and activities associated with building duct as assigned by Sheet Metal Fabricator I / Shop Foreman. Essential Functions • Works collaboratively with all members of the fabrication crew. • Ability to learn the full scope of the job and is able to execute tasks with, and in some instances, without supervision. • Responsible for maintaining an organized, clean, and safe jobsite in conjunction with company policies. • Ability to communicate professionally and knowledgably with Fabrication Manager, Shop Foreman, and all fabrication personnel. • Ability to learn how to read and interpret field drawings, then layout straight duct according to such documents. • Performs most aspects of sheet metal fabrication including, strait layout, forming, grinding, assembling, insulating, pin spotting and organizing. • Ability to identify maintenance needs on equipment and informs Shop Foreman. • Assists with inventory maintenance and reports any inventory or stock needs. • Ability to complete all required paperwork associated with job in an accurate and timely manner including but not limited to timesheets and pull from inventory sheets. • Ability to identify possible delays, problems, and errors associated with project and report to Shop Foreman. • Ability to assist and train Sheet Metal Fabricator Apprentice. • Ability to receive guidance and training from Sheet Metal Fabricator I. • Ability to listen and complete tasks assigned by Shop Foreman. • Ability to operate large equipment when necessary (example forklift). • Ability to own and operate all tools necessary to perform job duties. • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
