An HVAC duct installer works with both sheet metal and flexible ductwork in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned. • Installing ductwork according to blueprints, ensuring proper connections and minimizing air leaks. • Inspecting and maintaining existing ductwork, identifying and repairing leaks, and ensuring optimal airflow. • Fixing damaged or malfunctioning ductwork, including replacing sections or making adjustments as needed. • Fabricating duct components, including cutting, bending, and joining sheet metal, often using specialized tools. • Installing insulation around ductwork to prevent heat loss or gain, improving energy efficiency. • Diagnosing issues with the ductwork system and implementing solutions to restore proper function. • Using a variety of tools and equipment, including: shears, brakes, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, leak detection devices, and refrigerant recovery machines Minimum Qualifications To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
