About Peterson Sheet Metal: Peterson Sheet Metal is based out of Minnesota with offices in Bemidji and Chanhassen. We are a full Mechanical Contractor that specializes in Sheet Metal, Hydronic Piping, Plumbing, Insulation, Controls, and a Full-Service Department. Our projects include New Construction, Remodel, and Design Build Projects in the fields of Education, Hospitality, Health Care, and Light Commercial Projects. Job Description • This position reports to the Detailing Manager and is responsible for the preparation of both 2D & 3D CAD drawings to be used for installations, fabrication, construction documents and project closeouts. They are also responsible for coordinating with partition plans, reflected ceiling plans and other trades to minimize jobsite conflicts. • Initiative, decisiveness, tact, integrity, judgement, and technical knowledge are essential to achieving department and corporate goals. • Lead and participate in coordination meetings with project managers, project superintendents and field foreman. • Work with project managers and Detailing Manager to produce mechanical construction documents, isometrics, equipment schedules and specifications. • Work with project managers, detailers, and superintendents to produce 3D, fully coordinated models, installation drawings, fabrication drawings, bills of materials and as-built drawings. • Travel to jobsites and attend project meetings and coordinate with field crews. • Perform 3D scanning and total station layout on jobsites. Competencies • Strong communication and computer skills • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Bluebeam, and online meeting software. • Proficient in the following Autodesk products: AutoCAD, Navisworks and BIM 360. • Autodesk Revit or Inventor software proficiency is a plus. • BIM coordination and modeling software experience is a plus. • Working knowledge of mechanical, HVAC, piping and plumbing systems. • Read and interpret construction documents. • Ability to work on multiple projects as a team and individually and meet multiple deadlines. • Checks own work and maintains high level of detail. Supervisory Responsibility • This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work environment • This job operates in a professional open-office environment. • Occasional travel to jobsites for field verification, inspections, and collaboration with field personnel. • Willingness to work occasional overtime. Expected Hours of Work • This is a full-time position. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Education, Skills, and Qualifications • Three to Five years experience in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and correcting diverse HVAC service issues. • EPA Refrigerant Handling Certification • Basic Knowledge of Computers • Good analytical skills and attention to detail. • Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations. • Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items, carry ladders, work from heights, and work in small crawl spaces as needed. • Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record. • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
