Metal Fabrication Specialist

Job Summary The ideal candidate will be a MIG Welder with prior experience in a manufacturing environment, responsible for assembling and repairing metal parts using various welding techniques. • Maintains a clean and organized work area to ensure efficient production. • Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on a bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks. • Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces to ensure accurate assembly. • Connects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch, turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch, and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame. • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications, performs quality control checks to ensure compliance with industry standards. • Scarfs or grooves welds and parts as needed to ensure smooth operation. • Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or splatter to achieve a high-quality finish. • Ensures all work is completed in accordance with safety protocols and regulations. • Performs physical tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, stooping, lifting, climbing, or balancing, kneels, crouches, or crawls as required. • Lifts and/or moves up to 25 lbs regularly, frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lifts and/or moves 90 lbs. • Requires specific vision abilities including distance vision, close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. • About the Role Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent required; one to six months of related experience and/or training preferred. • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. • Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading, fractions, and decimals. • Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. • Ability to read blueprints and measuring tape. • Experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred. • Able to pass all EHS required tests and clearances. Fabricator

About the position Wastequip is seeking a Fabricator to join our Alexandria, LA manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and experience necessary to fabricate steel parts and tools, contributing to our mission of providing high-quality waste handling equipment.
