What You Can Expect: • Journeyman Plumber (Skilled Trades Technician 3) • Dayshift Monday-Friday The Skilled Trades Technician 3, under minimal supervision, is responsible for maintaining and repairing facilities, buildings, and equipment for the organization. Ensures compliance with company policies as well as applicable state and federal regulations. Incumbents may specialize in one or more of the following areas: Electrician: The Electrician assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures. • Uses hand tools and testing instruments to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components and isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment. • Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems. • Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures. • Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications. • Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes. HVAC (Heat, Ventilating, Air Conditioning): The HVAC Mechanic installs, maintains, and repairs heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. • Monitors HVAC systems and operations and ensures routine preventive maintenance. • Checks, repairs, and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes, and other components. Plumber: The Maintenance Plumber inspects, installs, repairs, and replaces pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures to maintain heating, water, gas, and drainage systems, according to specifications and codes. • Assembles pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using various tools and methods. • Detects and locates leaks by filling pipes with water or air and observing pressure gauges. • Caulks leaks and opens clogged drains. Installs sinks, showers, toilets, water heaters, and related fixtures. • Reviews blueprints, building codes, and specifications to determine work details. Under minimal supervision, performs repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings, facilities, equipment, fixtures, and systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairs, work scheduling, safety compliance, coordination with outside contractors, and mentoring team members. May participate in interviews, training, onboarding, and performance initiatives. Acts as a resource for complex problem resolution. Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent. • 4 years of experience in the area of specialization. • Valid Driver's License AND a Journeyman License in Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC. Hospital, commercial, or industrial plumbing experience is highly preferred.
