Plumber, 2nd Shift (Local 95 Union)

This position will work under the Local 95 Union Shift: Monday-Friday 3:00pm - 11:00pm (2nd shift) with some travel to Cranberry, Passavant Install, maintain, and repair gas, air, water, sewer, vacuum, medical gas, and fire suppression systems in the hospital. Responsibilities • Perform all work following infection control procedures. • Prepare pipe for installation such as cutting, threading, removing burrs, grooving and bending. • Record work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis. • Estimate costs of installations and repair work, including requisition of material, as needed. • Fit valves, couplings and other plumbing devices by screwing, bolting or soldering and seal connections with joint compounds, gaskets or caulking by using appropriate tools. • Inspect systems for pressure loss and leaks. • Install, repair and maintain various types of pipe assemblies, plumbing fixtures and piping systems from blueprints and sketches, including but not limited to chilled water, heating hot water and medical gas. • Investigate and perform system outages. • Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas. • Mark, cut and bend pipe to meet specifications by using hacksaw, pipe cutter or cutting machine.

Plumbing Maintenance Foreman

Supervises and directs a crew of Plumbers in the repair, replacement, maintenance and installation of all types of plumbing fixtures and accessories in City-owned facilities. Department: Public Works Salary: $68,753 per year.
