Plumber

Plumber (installer) is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings, including pipes, fixtures (like sinks, toilets, and bathtubs), and appliances, by reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, and assembling pipes, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with building codes while diagnosing and fixing leaks, clogs, and other plumbing issues; often requiring strong problem-solving abilities and customer service skills. Requires to be licensed (TSBPE) Key responsibilities of a plumber (installer): 1. Installation: -Installing new plumbing systems in new construction or renovation projects, both being residential & commercial. -Installing pipes, fittings, and fixtures according to specifications and building codes. -Measuring, cutting, and threading pipes using appropriate tools. -Connecting fixtures to the plumbing system, including sinks, toilets, showers, and bathtubs. -Installing water heaters and other plumbing appliances. 2. Maintenance and Repair: -Diagnosing and repairing plumbing issues like leaks, clogs, and faulty fixtures -Performing preventative maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure proper function -Clearing clogged drains and pipes -Replacing worn or damaged plumbing components 3. Troubleshooting: -Identifying the source of plumbing problems by analyzing symptoms -Determining the best course of action to repair malfunctions 4. Customer Service: -Communicating with clients to understand their needs and concerns -Providing accurate cost estimates for repairs and installations -Maintaining a professional demeanor and ensuring customer satisfaction Required skills and qualifications: 1. Technical skills: -Knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations -Ability to read blueprints and interpret plans -Proficiency in using various plumbing tools and equipment (pipe cutters, wrenches, soldering tools) -Understanding of different pipe materials and their applications 2. Published or Revised March 03, 2025 Responsibilities: Performs general plumbing duties and other general maintenance duties as assigned. Qualifications: Applicant must have high school diploma or equivalent required. Journeyman’s Plumbing license required. Masters plumbing license preferred. Must have minimum of 2 years’ experience. Journeyman’s plumbing license (or ability to get the license with in 3 months; inability to get license will terminate employment). Current driver license and insurability with college insurance carrier. Must be willing to attend continuing education and training for professional and personal growth. Ability to perform plumbing work related to water, sewer, gas and other general maintenance duties; to exercise sound work practices and to develop awareness for safety; to work from drawings and specifications; to perform hard physical labor under adverse environments and weather conditions; and to operate and maintain related equipment (backhoe, trencher, tractor, sewer equipment etc.). Salary: The salary range for this position is $25 per hour. Fringe Benefits: This position covers health insurance at 100% for employee.
