Essential Duties: • Thoroughly reviews specifications, building plans, and shop drawings to identify necessary tools and equipment, ensuring precise installation sequences. Adheres to hanger spacing and load requirements as per specifications and owner preferences. • Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, urinals, water heaters, water softeners and others. • Precisely locates and marks pipe positions, connections, and passage holes in walls and floors using tools like a ruler, level, and laser for accuracy. • Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and fittings, using hand and power tools. • Installs sleeves and leave outs for roof and wall penetrations. • Digs, backfills and tamps ditches using shovels, picks, and tampers. • Cuts, reams and solders copper tubing/piping, braze, solvent weld, fuse groove and thread pipe using pipe cutters, reamers, torches, allow gaskets, solvent cements, fusing machines, press fittings, grove and pipe-threading machines. • Assembles and installs valves, pipes and fittings composed of metals, i.e. iron, steel, copper, brass, lead and non-metals, i.e. glass, vitrified clay and plastic using hand tools and power tools. • Joins pipes using mechanical solder, brazing, and pipe joining methods. • Fills pipe systems with water or air and reads gauges to determine system leaks. • Maintains the work area in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations (should support the implementation of 6S). Maintains required personal tools, and properly uses all Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required Possession of a valid/current Journeyman Plumber’s License is a must 4+ years as a Plumbing Journeyman preferred Trained and qualified to operate machinery such as scissor lifts, aerial lifts, fork lifts, etc. Demonstrated proficiency through job-related training and extensive on-the-job experience. Expected to serve as a resource for colleagues, work independently with minimal supervision, and offer guidance to team members.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required • Education High School Diploma or equivalent. • Experience 3 years journeyman level experience as plumber in a commercial, institution or healthcare setting. • Licenses and Certifications Must have current Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners journeyman's licensure as a Plumber in appropriate level and field of work. JOB DUTIES • Installs, repairs, and maintains piping systems and plumbing fixtures, inspecting connections and other parts for leaks; replaces defective pipe and solders and/or caulks leaks and broken pipes. • Cuts, bends, and threads pipe, fitting valves and couplings to pipe sections by screwing, bolting, or soldering and wipes lead joints. • Installs pipe assemblies and plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, emergency eye-washes, special laboratory equipment, water heaters, etc., roughing-in when needed. • Clears clogged lines. • Repairs autoclaves and other sterilizing equipment, hot water units, and gas heaters and checks for safe operation. • Assists in estimating and maintains required time and material records for each job. • Utilizes PPE and protects job sites from sewer line discharge/spillage. • Performs other duties as assigned.
