Job Description: This is a position in the Facilities Management Department that requires some experience in plumbing. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Regardless of specialty, a Maintenance Specialist may be required to perform other maintenance tasks as needed, such as minor repairs or assisting with other projects. Essential Functions Repairs and maintains plumbing systems and components in the hospital facility. Identifies and troubleshoots plumbing issues and recommend appropriate solutions. Journeyman Plumber

Installs, maintains, and repairs pipes and fixtures associated with water distribution, sanitation systems, and some heating and cooling in residential and commercial structures. Inspects drainage and other plumbing systems for compliance with local and national regulations. Plumber Job Duties: - Interprets blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials. - Installs pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, gas, steam, air or other liquids. - Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures to installation. - Assembles fittings and valve for installation. - Modifies length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed for a building. - Uses saws and pipe cutters as necessary. - Installs heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heaters. - Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems. - Analyses problems and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repairs. - Chooses plumbing materials based on budget, location, and intended uses of building - Writes report documenting the problem and summary of actions taken. - Preforms inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts.
