Job Overview Assembles, installs and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes. Work Model: Onsite Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: • Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aides required and sequence of installation. • Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe. • Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level and plumb bob. • Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and thread fittings, using hand tools and power tools. • Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, also non-metals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic, using hand tools and power tools. • Joins pipe by use of screws, bolts, fitters, solder, plastic solvent and caulks joints. • Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking. • Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners. • Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains. • Inspects, repairs and maintains underground pipe, valves and associated equipment related to fluid, natural gas and propane transport including leak detection and repair. • May weld holding fixtures to steel structural members. • Respond to emergency call-outs as requested by Trouble Desk. • Perform all other work-related duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: • This position requires knowledge, training, and experience as a construction/maintenance plumber equivalent to Journeyman level. • Possess a valid Nevada Driver’s License. • High School graduate or equivalent. • Possess an OSHA 10 card or have the ability to get one within the first 90 days of employment. • Employee to furnish own hand tools. • Must be able to comprehend, read, speak and write proficiently in the English language. • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations.
