See More Details >>Role and Responsibilities: Full-time position supporting the Engineering Technical Services as a Field Engineer position responsible for various technical tasks including hands on mechanical and electrical tasking. Will be required to perform a wide verity of technical tasks as required by work in process supporting the SDTS CSMP. Work will be performed on the SDTS and at NSWC Port Hueneme, California. Position Qualifications: •Must have degree in a technical field and 7 to 9 years' experience or no degree and 13 years' experience with general fabrication, assembly, installation and repairs. •Must be proficient with common hand and power tools performing field activity support tasks as defined, as well as, fabricate and install shipboard parts/equipment. •Must be able to work with the welders in setting up jigs and tacking items to support ongoing projects. •Must have structural lay-out, cutting, fitting and fabrication experience. •Must have pipe fitting, valves and flange experience. •Must have pipe brazing experience. •Must have basic electrical knowledge/experience. •Must be able to gain the knowledge of shipboard piping and systems that apply to the ship. •Must be able to utilize pipe bender, chop saw, drill press, tube notches, air tools, grinder, impact tools etc.. •Must be able to work independent or in a team environment completing various tear down, set up, repair and installation projects. •Must be punctual to work. •Must be able to work under minimal supervision, plan, perform and complete tasks with limited guidance. •Should have some basic computer Microsoft Office skills (i.e., word processing, general data entry) •Have a valid driver's license with own transportation. •Must have no criminal record and able to satisfactorily complete background check and/or security clearance. •Able to follow company policies and procedures. •Able to write, speak and understand English and able to write clear, detailed reports.
