Combo Pipe Welder / Pipefitter

Traveling Combo Pipe Welders / Fitters AM Mechanical is hiring experienced Traveling Combo Pipe Welders / Fitters to support industrial laundry facility shutdown projects across the country. This role involves pipe welding, fitting, and installation in fast-paced environments where precision, safety, and meeting deadlines are critical. Candidates must be skilled in Stick, TIG, and MIG welding and able to travel extensively. What We Can Offer You • Travel & Accommodations covered • Rotational Schedule allowing time at home every month • Medical, Dental & Vision • Traditional & Roth 401K • Holiday Pay • Vacation Days (eligibility period may apply) Responsibilities • Perform pipe welding using Stick, TIG, and MIG techniques in shutdown and turnaround environments. • Fit, fabricate, and install piping systems according to specifications and blueprints. • Work within industrial laundry facilities during shutdown periods to complete repairs, upgrades, or new installations. • Read and interpret piping diagrams, isometric drawings, and welding symbols. • Operate cutting torches, grinders, and other fabrication tools. • Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards. • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized worksite. • Collaborate with field teams to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent. • 5+ years of pipe welding and fitting experience (shutdown or industrial facility work preferred). • Proficiency in Stick, TIG, and MIG welding techniques. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. • Must be able to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions. • Valid Driver's License (along with Real ID or Passport) and ability to travel extensively. • Welding certifications are a plus but not required. (Will be required to weld test upon job offer) All successful candidates must have a valid driver's license and complete a criminal background check.
