Our capabilities range from C5ISR, AI and Big Data, cyber operations and synthetic training environments to fleet sustainment, environmental remediation and unmanned underwater vehicles. About the Role This is a pipeline requisition for Marine Shipfitter/Pipefitters for fleet modernization in the Seattle, WA and Bremerton, WA areas. The selected candidate will be required to travel to shipyards and military bases located around or out of the country when not assigned to a local task. Key Responsibilities: • Apply basic pipefitting processes to join, surface, fabricate, repair, or replace piping systems. • Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, troubleshoot, modify, construct and test various types of industrial mechanical, electrical and/or electronic equipment and related devices. • Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders. • Uses measuring tools and related equipment to target and fit piping. • Sil-brazes cuni pipe. Requirements: • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance. • Candidates should have standard shipboard experience in Fitting Procedures. • Must be capable and have knowledge of using various mechanical industrial tools such as precision measuring instruments, minor rigging equipment, portable power units and mechanical fastening devices. Bonus Points: • Prior AIT or active duty experience on current active class submarines is preferred. • Current OSHA 10 Maritime Certificate preferred. • Experience with proper placement and fitting into place structural piping items is preferred. Physical Requirements: The selected candidate must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Why HII?
