We specialize in commercial air conditioning, plumbing, piping, service, and the maintenance of these systems. Way Mechanical is a great place to work and build a career! Performs pipe welding primarily in a 1G position. Must pass a test in 6G position. Responsibilities: • Layout and fit pipe, offsets, bends, and radiuses. Assemble and install hangers, pipes, and fittings using couplings, clamps, flanges, bolts, pro press, soldering, brazing, and tack welding. Use a cutting torch to cut and bevel steel pipe • Performs pipe welding primarily in a 1G position. Must pass a test in 6G position. • Piping systems include Chilled Water, Heating Water, Refrigeration, Condensate, Steam, and Condenser Water piping • Understand installation of piping systems according to the contract drawings, shop drawings, and details • Keeps work area clean and in an orderly condition. Pipefitter Foreman

As a Pipefitter Foreman, you will be responsible for managing a team that fabricates various components that are installed on commercial construction projects. The pipefitter Foreman is involved with planning, material management, personnel, schedules and communication with project management and field construction teams. Compensation aspects of the role are dependent upon knowledge, skills and experience. Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Manage a team of employees consisting of journeyman, helpers and general laborers • Read and review plans, materials lists, and in-house shop drawings to effectively fabricate duct, pipe, supports, hangers, and other materials according to specifications. • Assist with coordination with project management / field construction teams to accurately plan, schedule, and execute prefabrication needs and material delivery to jobsite in a timely manner; Supervise and organize deliveries to job sites • Abide by company safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards. • Accountable for the safe work performance of personnel and equipment and ensures the shop is safe and OSHA compliant. • Ensure inventory and return scrap material are returned from job sites • Inventory and return tools and equipment • Place material orders and receive and verify materials • Complete required electronic documentation including reports, material orders, accident reports, disciplinary reports, etc. • Perform quality assurance on fabricated materials before shipment from the fabrication shop, responsible for identifying and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions. • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition. • Perform preventive machine maintenance and minor repairs. • Maintain general shop cleanliness and organization. • Load and unload trucks as needed. • Perform welding, pipefitting, plumbing, and machine operating duties as needed. • Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned. Education, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications • 7 years of experience managing a team of direct reports within a construction environment preferred. • Experience with pipe fitting processes using piping such as carbon steel, stainless steel and copper preferred • High school diploma or GED preferred • Able to read blueprint, plans, drawings, and other equipment layout materials • Ability to successfully complete an operator exam and drive powered industrial equipment. • Welding certification / NCCER Pipefitter certification preferred • OSHA 30 hour, preferred. • Able to work from ladders and man lifts from various heights and operate the equipment as needed Additional Requirements • Must complete company specific welding, soldering and/or brazing test for employment. • Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills. • Maintain a positive, cooperative and coachable attitude • Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter. • Analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to walk, stand, squat, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb, reach, grasp and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs. • Regular and predictable attendance. • Must be able to fulfill the essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and a safe manner. • Work performed primarily inside but must go outside at times for product and various tasks. • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. • Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening • Ability to pass MVR check (if applicable) or must have reliable transportation • Ability to pass a physical ability test • Ability to travel, as needed, for projects Benefits • 401K match • Medical • HSA • Dental • Vision • Long-term Disability • PTO • Paid Holidays • Pet Insurance • Employee Assistance Program • Company Discount Program Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job.
