Pipefitter - Beyond New Horizons Location: Arnold AFB, Tullahoma, TN Position Type: Craft | Pay Type: A21 | Grade: A21 | Starting Hourly Rate: $38.44 Schedule: Flexible; any shift as needed. This position is open to internal and external candidates; priority to current BNH employees. Application deadline: 11:59 pm, November 27, 2025. Overview Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) is a joint venture providing test operations and sustainment services for the Arnold Engineering Development Complex. The Pipefitter will support TOS II, operating and maintaining high‑pressure and complex piping systems as part of the Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment effort. Job Summary The successful candidate will work from blueprints, drawings or sketches to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high‑pressure piping systems, set up and operate trade‑specific tools and equipment. Job Duties Locate and position pipes and fittings. Measure, cut, thread and fabricate complex pipework. Install, modify, repair and maintain piping and sprinkler systems for air, gas, steam, water, sewage, drainage, oil, fuels and other fluids. Create flange, bell‑and‑spigot, screw and ring connections. Install valves. Perform minor repairs and alterations, including painting, coating, insulating or waterproofing pipe. Wear PPE in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy. Perform burning and tack welding and other duties as required. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. At least four (4) years of progressive pipefitting experience, including apprenticeship. Must successfully complete a welder performance qualification test in accordance with ASME Section IX (2‑3/4″ diameter × 5/8″ thick carbon steel pipe, 1/8″ GTAW (ER70S‑2) open butt root, remainder SMAW (E7018), position 6G). Valid State Driver’s License. Proficient reading, writing and speaking English. Current U.S. Citizenship required; must obtain and maintain security clearance.
