Reports To: Superintendent/Project Manager Location: Lewiston, We are seeking experienced, skilled pipe-fitters to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for planning and installing all piping systems for our Idaho projects or other projects/sites as assigned. You should have ample experience in welding, joining, and installing a variety of piping systems, as well as installing manual and electric safety valves. Job Duties: • Configure pipe systems blueprint and plan piping systems layouts • Ensure all steam, water, chemicals, or other liquids are turned off before working on piping system • Precisely cut, bend, and weld metals such as carbon and stainless steel • Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials from pipes as needed • Install piping or tubing segments securely with welding or other equipment • Thread, weld, and solder piping together • Consult with job site management for hole placements in walls and bulkheads • Ensure pipe sizes, hangers, supports, and joint needs for accurate flow • Cut and alter piping to ensure correct sizes • Perform trial runs and tests on pipe systems • Repair and reinforce broken, cracked, or inadequate systems or pipes Skills/Qualifications: • Three years’ experience as a pipe-fitter or pipe-fitter apprenticeship preferred • High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeship required • Must meet all state license requirements • Accurate and precise attention to detail • Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations with regard to piping systems • TWIC Card Certification or ability to obtain • Outside the majority of the time • Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures • Manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environment • Fit and move in confined spaces including tanks and vessels • Limited working surfaces • Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors • Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights) • Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time on a monthly basis for required tasks • If driving is required, valid driver license and proof of insurability is required.
