Masonry / Concrete / Restoration - Estimator & Project Manager

Please Note: Commercial Masonry Experience is a MUST, only Applicants with Masonry Experience will be Considered. Job Summary: The Masonry / Concrete / Restoration Estimator & Project Manager at The Borsello Companies, Inc. is responsible for accurately estimating the costs and resources required for project opportunities. This role involves analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates and ensuring that projects are completed within budget. Key Responsibilities: 1. Review Project Documents: • Be able to read & analyze blueprints & drawings, along with specifications to understand the Scope of Work required. • Consult with internal personnel for project requirements to communicate with Architects, Engineers, and Contractors along with clarifying project requirements and details. • Schedule and/or attend site visits & pre-bid orientations 2. Cost Estimation: • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and appropriate equipment required for upcoming projects. • Utilize estimating software and tools to create accurate cost breakdowns and budgets. • Annotate drawings and prepare RFI's for any unclear or missing information pertaining to project scope and then submit to Architects. 3. Material and Labor Pricing: • Research and obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services. • Assess labor requirements and calculate labor costs based on project scope and labor rates including prevailing wage labor rates. • Initiate purchase orders & facilitate shop drawings for submittal packets, for awarded projects. • Prepare material submittal packet, schedule of values, and upload all pertinent contract / project files & documents, for awarded projects. 4. Site Assessment: • Conduct site visits to evaluate project conditions and gather Information for accurate estimates for project completion and WIP reports. • Identify potential challenges or additional costs associated with site conditions such as damaged or missing items needed to complete the project. 5. Bid Preparation: • Prepare and submit competitive government & commercial bids for Concrete, Masonry & Restoration Projects. • Ensure that all bid submissions are complete, accurate, and submitted within deadline dates. 6. Cost Control: • Monitor project costs and compare actual expenses to estimates. • Provide recommendations for cost control and budget adjustments as needed. 7. Collaboration: • Work closely with Owner, Internal Personnel, Project Managers, Construction Teams, and Clients to ensure estimates align with project goals and requirements. • Prepare for & attend Bi-Weekly project management group meetings providing insight to the team regarding projects. Manage and forecast project costs through the ongoing evaluation of labor, material, and equipment. Forecast and analyze construction costs, exposures, and profits until project is completed • Work closely with the site Superintendent & Foreman to coordinate initial material deliveries and record field verified dimensions as needed for shop drawings / purchase orders 8. Documentation and Reporting: • Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and project-related documents • Generate reports on cost estimates, project budgets, and financial performance with the assistance from internal personnel 9. Project Leadership: • Manage and coordinate all phases of commercial construction projects, collaborating with clients, subcontractors, and on-site teams to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery. 10. Strategic Planning: • Create detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.​​​​ 11. Continuous Improvement: • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, supplies and construction techniques • Implement best practices for estimating and cost & project management • Schedule follow up meetings with general contractors to track status of submitted project proposals Qualifications: • Previous experience in the Masonry Industry is Required • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills both with internal personnel and while meeting and coordinating with Architects, Consultants, Engineers, Property Owners, Project Managers, or Job Superintendents • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Drive • Strong ability to review and understand all construction documents, including building plans and specifications • Proactive mindset to identify and implement cost-saving strategies to enhance project profitability • Positive attitude, professional workmanship, and appearance • Highly organized multitasker that is able to think quickly & adapt to changing situations • Willingness to perform project management roles a plus Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Related Field is a plus. • Relevant Certifications or Training in Estimating or Masonry are Advantageous. Experience: • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial concrete & masonry estimation. Experience with Government, Commercial and Residential Restoration is a plus. Skills: • Proficiency in Estimating software (e.g., Planswift, ProEst, Buildertrend, Tradesmen, etc.) Working Conditions: • Occasional site visits and fieldwork. • Full-time position with standard working hours. • Flexibility may be required based on project needs.
