Mason Journeyman - Skilled We are currently seeking a Journeyman to join our Award-winning growing team. This is a full-time labor-intensive role with an opportunity to progress within the company. Duties and Responsibilities • Perform masonry to company's standard of quality, under the direction of the Foreman, according to the plans and specifications. Bring discrepancies and special conditions to the attention of the Project Manager. • Maintain a safe work environment, reinforcing a 'safety first' attitude with the team. Care for tools, equipment, materials, and job site. • Constructs, alters, repairs, and installs structures made of block, stone, brick, and concrete utilizing hand tools and power tools of the masonry trade. • Selects types of cement, plaster mortar, blocks, stone, or brick to be used. Sets stone, brick and block applying knowledge of stress and strain and ratio of mixes and bonds. • Measures and cuts stone, brick, and block according to specifications. • Reads and interprets specifications, sketches and/or blueprints as they pertain to masonry work. • Loads and unloads materials; erects and uses scaffolding. • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed. • Performs other duties as required.
