Job Description: Construction Inspector Location: Pittsburg, Liberal, Abilene, McPherson & Wichita, KS Position Type: Full-Time Background Earles Engineering & Inspection (EEI)—a Pittsburg, KS–based firm delivering civil, structural, environmental, inspection, and surveying services across Kansas, Texas, and the Oklahoma Panhandle—has a 30‐year record of partnering with municipalities, state agencies, and private developers on water, wastewater, and land‐development projects. We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring construction projects meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. You will be responsible for monitoring field activities, documenting progress, and supporting project teams in delivering successful infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities • Inspect construction activities to verify compliance with project specifications, standards, and codes. • Document daily project progress, including materials, equipment, and work performed. • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve field issues. • Monitor safety practices on job sites and report concerns as needed. • Perform measurements, testing, and other field tasks to support project quality control. • Prepare clear and accurate inspection reports. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred. • KDOT and/or ODOT certification desirable but not required (training provided for the right candidate). • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret construction plans and specifications. • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel out of town as project needs arise.
