Commercial Brick/Block Mason

PRIMARY PURPOSE: • Lay building materials, such as brick, concrete block, stone, glass block, and terra-cotta block, to the highest quality for construction of walls and other structures. ROUTINE DUTIES: • Construct corners by fastening in plumb position a corner pole or building a corner pyramid of bricks, and filling in between the corners using a line from corner to corner to guide each course of brick, block, stone, etc. • Measure distance from reference points and mark guidelines to lay out work, using plumb bobs, rules, and levels. • Assist Superintendent in calculating the materials required to finish day out and or topping wall out at required heights. • Break or cut bricks, tiles, or blocks to size, using trowel edge, hammer, or power saw. • Remove excess mortar with trowels and hand tools, and finish mortar joints with jointing tools, for a sealed, uniform appearance. • Assist in helping laborers out, when needed, in stocking materials and or building scaffolding. • And other assigned duties, willing to help where needed, patching, clean up, etc. BENEFITS: Competitive Benefit Package including: • 401K match • Health Insurance • Dental Insurance • Vision Insurance • Life Insurance • Leave time and Holidays • Referral Bonus • Per diem is paid to employees based on the distance from their home to the jobsite CORE VALUES Value Honesty Amazing Judgment Leading by Taking Action Unified Team Exceeding Customer Expectations Swift to Change Lang Masonry Contractors is an equal opportunity employer that recognizes the value of a diverse workforce. Job Definition The Superintendent supervises a crew of laborers and skilled employees to successfully complete an assigned project. Responsibilities • Promote safety always • Supervises a crew of up to 30 employees and prioritizes work. • Monitor crew work for quality. • Reads and follows plans, material lists and guidelines and applies necessary timelines. • Conducts regular tailgate safety meetings. • Fulfills all regular and advanced installation/construction duties, including project layout, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner. • Organizes, supervises, leads and trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframe. • Enforces all company safety policies and procedures. • Enforces all client-required safety policies and procedures. • Complies with all company policies and procedures and safety requirements, including crew member discipline and documentation. • Submits crew member time sheets into payroll by deadline. Commercial Brick/Block Laborer

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Laborers are responsible for keeping the job moving. It is their job to make sure the Masons do not run out of supplies such as block/brick, mortar, wire, and control joint. The Laborers are also responsible for letting the Operators and/or Superintendent know when they are running low on supplies so the Operator can have it to them before they run out. ROUTINE DUTIES: • Mix mortar, grout, manually or using machines, according to standard formulas. • Erect scaffolding. • Cut materials to specified sizes for installation, using power saws. • Modify material moving, mixing, grouting, grinding, polishing, or cleaning procedures, according to installation or material requirements. • Provide assistance in the preparation, installation, repair, of block/brick, or stone surfaces. • Locate and supply materials to masons for installation, following numbered sequences. • Arrange or store materials, machines, tools, or equipment. • Clean installation surfaces, equipment, tools, work sites, or storage areas. • Move or position materials such as marble slabs, hoists, or dollies. • Remove excess grout or residue from block/brick joints, using sponges or trowels. • Remove damaged block/brick, or mortar, and clean or prepare surfaces, using pliers, hammers, chisels, drills, or wire brushes. • Be proactive in asking for help and/or what to do next. • And other assigned duties.
