About The Position This position leads greenfield renewable generation projects through the development life cycle, supporting Ameren Missouri's generation portfolio transition to utility-scale and customer renewable energy solutions. Responsibilities Include: • Support activities for greenfield renewable project development to implement the long-term strategic goals related to Ameren's generation transformation. • Identify, evaluate, and acquire optimal land/real estate rights for renewable development, communicating plans to local county and city authorities, landowners, economic development entities along with performing diligence on potential properties for purchase or lease. • Obtain all local and environmental permits including negotiation of decommissioning plans, Chapter 100 tax agreements, special use permits and road use agreements. • Complete request for proposal evaluations, market assessments, project evaluations, and fatal flaw identification for new greenfield solar developments. • Support and assist local, state, and federal regulatory filings teams for wind and solar projects, specifically lead Missouri Public Service Commission certificate of convenience and necessity filings. • Support and develop internal business case justifications, economic evaluation, and regulatory filings with the Missouri Public Service Commission / other regulatory commissions. • Evaluate and support transmission and distribution interconnection processes to secure optimized interconnection queue positions and filings. • Partner with the renewable construction group to negotiate and create strategic partnerships with engineering, procurement, and construction firms, ensure optimized design and engineering review to develop, construct and operate renewable assets reliably. • Acquire and maintain information on market, industry, economic, consumer, and competitive conditions and trends; Establish new opportunities including but not limited to generate new development opportunities for the company. • Understand land use ordinances and applicable State & Federal regulations. • Prepare presentations for management on project opportunities, project status and project cost requirements for Ameren Board of Directors approvals. • Work closely with the project management team in the construction of renewable energy projects to ensure successful handoff from development to construction management team. • Coordinate with strategy, development, and project management groups to maximize project value and minimize risk. • Assist in project budgeting and design. • Develop and produce internal and external communications and presentation. • Coordinate internal alignment with various teams across Ameren including Renewable Business Development, Customer Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Communications, Regulatory, Transmission, Distribution, Legal, Environmental, Tax, Credit, and Real Estate to execute Ameren Missouri's generation transition strategy. Willingness/ability to travel regionally in the Midwest is required. Renewable Development Manager Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in engineering, finance, economics or business. Five or more of relevant professional energy experience required (relevant experience e.g. wind and solar project development, contracting and negotiations, industrial project management, industrial construction management, construction or utility project engineering/design, etc.). Willingness/ability to travel regionally in the Midwest is required. Senior Renewable Development Manager Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in engineering, finance, economics or business. Seven or more of relevant professional energy experience required (relevant experience e.g. wind and solar project development, contracting and negotiations, industrial project management, industrial construction management, construction or utility project engineering/design, etc.). Willingness/ability to travel regionally in the Midwest is required. • Career level will be determined by individual applicant qualifications. In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Working knowledge of the utility industry, MISO, real estate development, power project engineering, Ameren policies, procedures and regulatory matters. Must be capable of leading prospect development through complex negotiations, for handoff to construction and project management teams. Compensation Range: $82,400.00 - $168,000.00 • This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant’s credentials. At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise.
