H&N Wind and Electric, a division of Timken Motor & Crane Services, is currently seeking a Wind Technician for the Pasco, Washington site. The role of the Wind Technician is to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic malfunctions and perform preventative maintenance on wind turbines. This position reports to the Field Service Supervisor. Essential Responsibilities • Perform scheduled maintenance and general service on wind turbines • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues • Perform some diagnostic electrical analysis • Assist in all areas of site operations • Submit daily time and travel expenses accurately and on-time • Perform other skiilled and non-skilled job duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma or GED equivalent required • Minimum three (3) years of hands-on mechanical experience required; five (5) years preferred • Three (3) years of wind technician experience preferred • Willing and able to travel 100% of the time • Driver’s License and clean driving record required; CDL preferred • Able to pass a DOT medical exam • Ability to understand, perform, and retain various skill-related training on operational and safety procedures • Ability to climb ladders unassisted and work on towers up to 350 feet • Work indoors/outdoors in extreme heat/cold for extended periods of time • Frequently handle, move, and/or lift repetitive weight up to 50 lbs • Self-initiative with a focus on quality of work and great customer service The yearly compensation for this role is $27.00 - $32.00 per hour and is commensurate on experience and education and could pay more or less than the posted range. GENERAL SUMMARY Maintenance technician to perform routine repetitive maintenance service work and troubleshooting under general supervision. Individuals are expected to successfully complete company related training and OJT/OJE in order to perform routine periodic service functions for wind turbine periodic maintenance. Successful candidates are expected to be capable of performing the following: troubleshooting, routine repetitive type maintenance functions, such as greasing components, replacing auto grease canisters, grease cleanup, replacing oil filters, general torqueing, etc. Assigned tasks also include general housekeeping, materials stocking, and general support functions. Employees must fill out work order forms to document work and materials used. Must be prepared to work weekends or overtime as required. Travel may be necessary to perform service support functions at other generation and industrial facilities.
