Wind Turbine Blade Technician (USA)

Location: 100% travel throughout the USA Job Type: Regular Full-time or Contract positions available Job Responsibilities: • Travel 100% on a rotational basis to wind farms throughout the U.S. - cross country travel by air or truck • Perform composite blade repair uptower via platforms, rope access and/or occasionally on the ground • Epoxy and Polyester resin wet layup • Vacuum infusion • Balsa and foam sandwich materials • Structural repair • Completing detailed Daily Progress Reporting Documents and QAQC reports • Completing onsite stock checks • Assisting site lead and project coordinator as applicable We are ideally looking for technicians with the following skill set and training: • 2+ years of Composite repair experience • Platform and/or rope access experience • Understanding of Epoxy and Polyester resins, wet lay-up and vacuum bag techniques • Understanding how to handle balsa and foam core materials • Knowledge of fiberglass reinforcement and structural repair • Ability to safely and correctly use powered hand tools • Quality knowledge of specification (i.e. temperature and humidity restrictions) • Ability to read complex technical drawings and processes • IT literate (email, internet, iPad) • Willing to spend time away from home in the field • Flexibility for changes of scope • Ability to work well as a team and take guidance • Valid, current driver's license • Must be 21 years of age to be able to drive a company vehicle • Must be able to meet the strenuous physical requirements of climbing ladders 2 or more times per day up to 300 feet/90 meters, bend, crawl, stoop and lift up to 75 pounds • US / Canadian citizens or legal to work in either country are eligible for the opportunity What are the perks of working with GEV Wind Power? • Upskilling trusted GEV technicians via GEV Academy • Bespoke reporting system (time saving with training provided) • Streamlined communications for our technicians with regular Business and Project updates via GEV technician engagement platform • We listen to our technicians needs and value their feedback (consistent technician feedback surveys) • Ongoing work for our top talent A little bit about us: A Career Enabling You to Make a Global Impact! GE LOTO Certified Traveling Wind Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious GE LOTO Certified Technician to join our dynamic team at GEV Wind Power U.S. In this critical role, you will travel extensively across the country to wind farm sites, applying your expertise in Lockout/Tagout procedures to support blade repair operations on GE turbines. Your focus on safety, teamwork, and operational excellence will ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery in challenging environments. About the position Responsibilities • Carry out duties with a primary focus on safety and quality. • Understand both the metric and imperial measurement systems. • Consistently complete timecards with detailed descriptions of work performed and manage expense reports. • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. • Apply principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to design and production of various goods and services. • Problem-solve issues as they arise. • Troubleshoot equipment, machines, wiring, or computer programs issues. • Understand direct current electricity, alternating current electricity, and electronics. • Write reports, complete work orders, chart information, and track progress on tasks. • Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and fellow employees. • Lead teams, train new employees, and complete reports when needed. Requirements • Electrical or Mechanical experience of at least four years. • Proof of Wind Technician Certification from an accredited Wind Academy or equivalent Trade School for entry-level candidates. • Excellent electrical and mechanical skills. • Knowledge of turbine-related machinery and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance. • Knowledge of circuit boards, electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations. • Willingness to learn and progress into a stronger role, such as troubleshooting, commissioning, or serving as lead technician on site. • Experience with turbine technology and/or being up-tower on platforms, including Solar/Off-shore experience. • Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, work instructions, and manuals. • Fluent English verbal and written communication skills are required. • Current valid driver's license and fit-to-drive record with no more than two moving violations in the past three years. • Ability to pass a criminal background check (project/client dependent). • Ability to travel for training and other company functions up to 10%.
