the Job Overview: Hatfield Metal Fabrication is seeking a Purchasing & Planning Agent for the procurement of products and materials. A Purchasing & Planning Agent’s responsibilities include managing the purchasing of material goods and services, negotiation of cost and delivery, maintaining relationships with vendors, and arranging the timely delivery of quality products. They will utilize competitive shopping and compare multiple suppliers to negotiate the best price for high quality products while balancing delivery times and fees. The purchaser will administer complex purchasing duties such as tracking inventory needs and replenishing stocked items. Responsibilities: Competitive purchasing: Ascertaining and assessing prospective suppliers, creating purchasing strategies to get the best rate for goods and services, while keeping an eye on market trends, and tracking cost analysis. Negotiations: Ability to negotiate cost, delivery, lead time, and returns, on contracts and individual orders with established suppliers, as well as negotiating terms and conditions on new & prospective vendors. Vendor Relationship Management: Creating and maintaining strong relationships with material and service providers. Tracking product quality and delivery performance and navigating issues when they arise to optimize Hatfield’s cost savings and production. Purchase Order Tracking & Expediting Follow up on open purchase orders and ensure everything arrives when due. Keep records of Purchase Orders, contracts, and quotes. Expediting orders when necessary. Tasks: • Evaluate prospective suppliers • Generate purchase orders • Track open orders • Update order records • Negotiate Prices • Maintain strong relationships with key vendors • Assess quality of products meets the terms and conditions of Purchase Orders • Confirm all materials are received in and close out Purchase Orders • Confer with floor workers to compare delivered materials & purchase orders to find and resolve any missing, damaged, or out of spec items • Experience and knowledge with prints and drawing specifications are beneficial but not required Required Skills: • Experience procuring metal products, hardware, and related items preferred. • Proficient in analytical and negotiation abilities • Strong communication and social skills • Previous experience with purchasing procedures and operations • Knowledge of Market trends and analyses • Project management • Proficiency in computer use • Capability to work individually as well as in a team setting • Minimum 3-5 years manufacturing purchase experience. Overview: ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing of metal components. Specific duties and responsibilities of the Machine Operator include, but are not limited to: • Operating a sheet metal press brake. • Operating stamping equipment, air press and Upcut saw. • Loading and unloading vibratory deburring equipment. • Operating a belt sander to smooth sharp part edges. • Retrieve raw material from inventory location. • Retrieve dies and tooling from fixture rack • Log in and out of ERP system. • Load raw material into fixtures. • Helping to package parts for shipment. • Welding 2-year experience, certified welder a plus. Minimal welding to start. Salary Range: $25-$30/hr. Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • High school diploma, GED or equivalent • Must possess some mechanical ability with using machines and tools. • Must be able to read a tape measure. • Must pay attention to detail when following procedures. • Ability to regularly stand for long periods, walk, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch. • Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. PREFERRED SKILLS • Prior experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment is preferred.
