POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The incumbent fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal products and equipment. S/he may occasionally oversee and direct the work of a small group of laborers. Base hourly rate of $20/hr - $31/hr KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Shears, forms, handles, bends, and welds thin sheet metal during the fabrication process. • Operates shears, plasma machines, press brakes, welding machines, and other various hand tools. • Loads and unloads trucks of material to be staged and installed throughout the jobsite. • Hangs steel supports from ceiling joists and concrete slabs to hold ducts in place. • Measures and marks dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets. • Drills holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets.
