Description: Accurate Heating, Cooling and Plumbing is looking for Sheet Metal Journeyman. This position is based in Columbus. We don’t want to hire for a job; we want to hire for a career. Sheet Metal Journeyman Job Description These duties are not all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned at any given time, based on the assigned job. • Check drawing for conflict • Understand other trades for coordination • Properly size, cut, insulate and install metal duct runs • Understand kitchen hoods, exhaust, welded ducts and make-up air systems • Able to run an area of a project with little to no supervision along with a level 1 or 2 apprentice. • Follow all company safety policies and procedures • Display the ability to build a positive team attitude/morale in supporting installers. Create a positive/constructive atmosphere at the job site. Recognize and change, when possible, a poor customer relationship into a positive one. • Able to run small jobs/phase of project with one installer and complete the job at or below budget/completion date • Offer suggestions on value engineering jobs • Maintain an open-minded approach to new ideas • Provide feedback to management for installer evaluations • Be familiar with operation sequence of equipment pertaining to the mechanical trade • Work with project leader to develop an environment of efficiency and continuous improvement • Coach/mentor apprentices 1-4 • Develop measurable goals and tasks for installers and helpers • Properly complete time cards weekly Sheet Metal Journeyman Qualifications Installers and technicians are subject to work in indoor and outdoor conditions. Those could include, but are not limited to; heat, cold, wind, rain, or snow. Installers and technicians are also subject to work in cramped, tight, dirty spaces or would be required to climb ladders.
