Plumber IJob Title Plumber IDepartment Physical Plant Posting Number req578 Description of Job Duties Job Summary:The Plumber I supports licensed plumbers in the installation, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairs of plumbing systems across SWOSU's facilities. Acts as a resource for the Physical Plant department and builds effective, strong working relationships to enhance department operations and functions.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Assist in repairing and maintaining plumbing facilities including fixtures, pipelines, sewer traps, toilets, urinals, and other related areasAssist in Install new plumbing lines and/or replace or extend existing linesLearn to interpret specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materialsAssist in organizing and ensuring needed supplies and equipmentAssist plumbers, electricians, and other members of the Physical Plant on projectsProvide support services to the department in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assists students, faculty, staff, and visitorsSpecific assignments are based on unit need and assigned by the supervisor which could include such things as documenting work performed and materials used; assisting with inventory trading; responding and assisting on routine service calls and emergencies when neededCompetencies:Ability to multi-task, organize, manage time effectively, and keep tasks appropriately prioritizedAbility to work independentlyAbility to work with, assist, lead, and take directions from others in the interest of operating the Physical Plant to its optimal efficiencyAbility to lift 25+ pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or outdoors in various weather conditionsWork Setting:Expectation of on-campus presence with attendance and punctualityPromote personal safety, safety procedures, and a safe work environmentEmployment at willFull-time status12-month appointmentNon-exemptAbout SWOSU:With locations in Weatherford, Yukon, Sayre, and online degree programs, SWOSU is one of the leading regional universities in the country.
