QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Possess a Washington State Plumber’s License (PL01, PL02) and four years applicable experience. • Possess a current Backflow Tester’s License or obtain certification when the first available class is offered in this region. • Possess a current driver’s license. • Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record. A condition of employment will be a signed waiver for the District to obtain a personal driving abstract prior to placement and on an annual basis. • Current WISHA approved first aid/CPR certification REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to work effectively as a team member and team leader as needed. • Ability to work with frequent interruptions. • Ability to meet tight time constraints and deadlines including but not limited to varying working hours when necessary. • Regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirements, goals, and outcomes. • Ability to climb ladders and crawl in tunnels. • Ability to lift supplies and equipment weighing 1/3 of your body weight up to 50 pounds. • Ability to communicate with a variety of people, in person, electronically, in writing, and over the phone or radio. • Ability to read blueprints and tape measure. • Ability to drive to various district locations. • Ability to obtain job related certifications as directed. • Ability to work in a safe manner in accordance with federal, state, and local law, as well as, district safety policy, guidelines, and regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Treat co-workers, supervisors, students, and patrons with dignity and respect at all times. • Serve as a positive role model for students, and practices the behaviors that are expected of our students. • Work in a flexible and cooperative manner. • Install, diagnose, repair, and/or replace all types of plumbing systems and plumbing fixtures. • Participate in the design of water systems for new facilities and renovation projects. • Carry out tasks such as loading and carrying equipment and supplies; clean up job site after completion of work. • Inspect and repair plumbing associated with heating/cooling systems. • Maintain and repair piping, tanks and pressure vessels for fuels, steam, water, air, gas and draining systems. Construct pipe joints using threading, brazing, soldering, and welding techniques. • Read and interpret blueprints; lay out, design, and construct piping assemblies using knowledge of current code. • Lead apprentices or helpers as assigned. • Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. Benefits/Compensation: Salary range: New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the salary range. However, employees who have verified prior years of service in a similar occupational status from other Washington School Districts or Education School Districts, may receive experience credit towards salary placement. Benefits: Employees who are anticipated to work at least 630 hours may be eligible for health, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life, and disability insurance benefits. .
