Job Description: The primary responsibility of the Apprentice Plumber is to provide operational reliability of all facility plumbing systems and equipment. This includes but is not limited to the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, demolition, and installation of commercial and industrial plumbing fixtures, piping and related equipment. This position requires the maintenance of tools and work areas in order to reflect a professional appearance. This position requires professional and effective communication with medical staff, patients, families and the general public. SHIFT AND SCHEDULE Full Time 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS • Installation, troubleshooting, repair or demolition of commercial and/or industrial plumbing fixtures and associated equipment in a hospital setting on both normal and emergency power. • This includes contact and coordination with contractors when necessary. • Ability to read and understand blueprints • Performs fitting, routing and connecting of plumbing installations of all types, including all supply and drain systems. • Maintains current knowledge of systems used in job, including codes and standards. • Uses time effectively while performing routine duties under minimal supervision. • May be required to work other than scheduled hours. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • High School or GED Equivalency Diploma • Thorough knowledge of electrical, mechanical and various building systems. • 10 years verifiable years experience in the plumbing trade. • Journeyman or Master plumber preferred. Things we offer you in this position include • Company vehicle & cell phone • Full-time Benefits • Employee Stock Ownership Plan • 401K Savings Plan • On - Call bonus • 8 paid holidays & Paid Time Off • Manufacture Training • **Journeyman Plumber Licensed Holder with the State of Texas required*** Essential Duties • Diagnoses Boiler issues through observation, testing and setup. • Performs disassembly and reassembly of large or small commercial equipment to perform trouble shooting. • Performs planned maintenance and inspections as indicated in the service agreement. • Responsible for water heater maintenance/troubleshooting/replacement and boiler maintenance, boiler pumps and circulating, boiler controller, troubleshooting and system installation. • Completes service contracts, quoted projects and demand service calls as directed. • Develops long-term relationships with customers and explains work performed to the customer's satisfaction. • Communicates and documents project status to all project stakeholders. • Serves as a lead and front-line resource to service technicians through technical support. • Coordinates the work of subcontractors, and trains and provides guidance to technicians. • Coordinates multi-tech jobs, and accomplishes multiple tasks on multiple projects with minimal impact, if any, between projects. • Reviews job contract specifications and assists with installation plan. • Coordinates work so it aligns with the project and start-up schedule. • Safely drives a motor vehicle and trailer, follows requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adheres to all company safety requirements. • Completes documentation of invoicing data based on hours worked and materials/equipment used to complete the service. • Maintains equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle. Minimum Requirements Journeyman Plumber Licensed Holder with the State of Texas require. Must have advanced knowledge of service processes, techniques and codes. Must be able to read schematics and blue prints. Performs as self-managed individual. Professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication capability.
