Summary: This position in the County Maintenance Department is a responsible position that works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, Facilities Director, and Construction Project Manager. This position plays a key role in ensuring water supply and draining systems are functioning properly to meet code requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and/or industrial settings. Essential Job Functions: 1. Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems. 2. Interpret blueprints and building specifications to map out pipe layouts. 3. Inspect and test plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and code compliance. 4. Diagnose plumbing issues and determine appropriate repair methods. 5. Cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure. 6. Respond to emergency calls for plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, and equipment failure. 7. Maintain tools and equipment to ensure that they are in good working condition. 8. Collaborate with contractors and other construction professionals. 9. Adhere to health and safety standards and local plumbing codes. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Familiarity with modern tools and techniques, including pipe threading machines, power tools, Pro press, and soldering equipment. - Strong knowledge of water distribution and wastewater disposal systems. - Ability to read blueprints and schematics. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Physical ability to work within confined spaces and/or heights.
