Responsible Master Plumber - RMP

Position Overview We are seeking a licensed Responsible Master Plumber (RMP) in Texas to serve as the designated plumbing compliance officer for our hotel. This is a contractor position where the RMP will assume legal responsibility for plumbing operations and compliance while providing oversight, consultation, and periodic inspections. The role is not full-time employment but a professional engagement to meet state licensing, permitting, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the designated Responsible Master Plumber (RMP) of record for the hotel with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners (TSBPE). • Ensure all plumbing work performed on the property complies with Texas state laws, city codes, and TSBPE regulations. • Pull and oversee plumbing permits as required for renovations, repairs, or system upgrades. • Provide consultation and guidance for hotel plumbing systems (domestic water, sewer, grease traps, boilers, laundry, HVAC water lines, guestroom fixtures, etc.). • Conduct quarterly or as-needed inspections of the property’s plumbing systems and provide written reports. • Coordinate with hotel management and contractors for plumbing-related projects. • Maintain compliance records and respond to any state or municipal inspections. • Carry professional liability as the RMP of record for the duration of the contract. Qualifications • Active Texas Master Plumber License in good standing with the TSBPE. • Eligible and willing to register as a Responsible Master Plumber (RMP) for the hotel. • Knowledge of Texas plumbing codes, commercial plumbing systems, and hotel facility operations. • Prior experience in commercial, hospitality, or multifamily plumbing strongly preferred. • Strong communication skills and ability to work with contractors, inspectors, and hotel staff. Contract Details • This is an independent contractor role, not an employment position. • Compensation: Flat monthly retainer plus additional fees for site visits, permit pulls, or project-specific consultation (to be negotiated). • Expected Time Commitment: Approx. 5–10 hours/month on average, with more during active projects. • Contractor must maintain insurance and license in good standing throughout the engagement.
