About the Role: We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Plumbing/HVAC Designer to join our team in Louisville. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical design background who takes initiative, works well independently, and is passionate about delivering high-quality results. You will be responsible for designing and coordinating plumbing and HVAC systems for a variety of commercial and industrial projects, ensuring full compliance with all applicable codes and standards. Key Responsibilities: • Design and draft plumbing and HVAC systems using Revit and AutoCAD • Translate architectural and engineering plans into coordinated, code-compliant mechanical designs • Apply in-depth knowledge of Kentucky Plumbing Code and ASHRAE standards to all system layouts • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems • Produce detailed construction documents, equipment schedules, and technical drawings • Conduct field verification and site walkthroughs as required • Support estimating tasks, including material take-offs and labor assessments (preferred but not required) • Operate independently and manage workload with minimal supervision, while maintaining accountability for accuracy and deadlines Qualifications: • 3–5 years of relevant experience in plumbing and HVAC system design • Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD • Strong knowledge of Kentucky Plumbing Code and ASHRAE standards • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction, while managing multiple projects simultaneously • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills • Effective written and verbal communication skills Preferred Skills & Experience: • Experience in estimating and pre-construction planning • Familiarity with Navisworks or similar coordination software • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related field Job Type: Full-time Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Monday to Friday Ability to Commute: • Louisville, KY 40204 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • Louisville, KY 40204: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
