What you will do: Performs planned preventative maintenance (PM) and completes associated documentation. Performs and logs daily established plumbing rounds, accomplishing minor mechanical plant corrective maintenance based on deficiencies noted during rounds and work order assignments. Has primary responsibility for accomplishing and recording mechanical plant plumbing work order requests as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. Corrective type repairs to restore plumbing and mechanical plant equipment to its original or normal condition, includes, but is not limited to, repairs of sink and dietary plumbing, grounds irrigation systems, filter changes, minor pure and filtered water system repairs and PM of dietary drains, etc. Ensures that supplies or waste from nursing units are properly disposed of and spills are contained and cleaned. Completes all daily corrective maintenance assignments. Documents all work on Work Order forms. Working from Work Order Request forms, verbal instructions or detailed specifications, diagrams, sketches or plans, coordinates activities with other members of the Plant Operations team to expedite work, reads blueprints and specifications to determine procedure of constructing building systems and components. Provides for the safety of department employees. Accepts responsibility for ensuring a safe work site. Demonstrates knowledge in and observes/uses safety precautions and safe working practices and keeps a clean and orderly work space. Calculates material needed and develops material lists. Orders appropriately and in a timely manner. Develops material lists for hardware. May be called upon to performance general maintenance duties. Willing to be flexible with work schedule to meet the needs of the department and/or patients. Participates in department performance improvement activities as assigned and attends required training. Demonstrates service excellence and ACE. Performs other duties, as assigned. What you will need: High school or vocational school graduate. Preferred Ohio Journeyman's plumbing license. Three year's maintenance experience in a building trade setting, military, or other related experience that has demonstrate his/her ability to operate and maintain typical maintenance tools in accomplishing general mechanical maintenance is desired. Knowledge of proper and safe use of plumbing codes, hand/power tools. Basic understanding of building systems such as electrical, plumbing and light carpentry. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to understand, and follow, written and oral instructions. Works well independently or as a team member Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and be insurable under Firelands' auto policy. Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request. Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required. Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of Hospital emergency codes. Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations and to utilize proper personal protective equipment. Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms. Successful completion of a ninety (90) day probationary period.
