Journeyman Plumber

We are seeking a Journeyman Plumber to join our facilities team, responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems across educational facilities. This role is critical in ensuring a safe, sanitary, and fully functional environment for students, teachers, and staff. Pay: $30.00-$32.00/hour The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on the applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. 401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For information about ABM’s benefits, visit ABM ABM Employee Benefits | Front Line Team Members | (Programa de Beneficios de ABM) Key Responsibilities: • Plumbing System Maintenance & Repair • Inspect, diagnose, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, drains, water heaters, boilers, restrooms, and kitchen fixtures. • Maintain and service drinking fountains, lab sinks, irrigation systems, emergency eyewash stations, and fire suppression systems to meet safety and health standards. • Address plumbing emergencies such as leaks, clogs, and broken fixtures in a timely manner to prevent disruptions to learning. • Installation & System Upgrades • Install and replace plumbing fixtures, faucets, valves, and piping in classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, and gymnasium facilities. • Upgrade plumbing systems to comply with school district sustainability initiatives and water conservation efforts. • Preventative Maintenance & Compliance • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of plumbing systems and minimize emergency repairs. • Ensure compliance with state and federal plumbing codes, school district policies, and health and safety regulations. • Conduct routine testing of water quality, backflow prevention devices, and sewage systems to maintain a safe and sanitary school environment. • Emergency Response & Troubleshooting • Respond quickly to plumbing emergencies such as water leaks, sewer backups, and low water pressure issues that may disrupt school operations. • Identify root causes of plumbing problems and implement long-term solutions to prevent reoccurrence. • Collaboration & Documentation • Work closely with school administrators, custodial teams, and maintenance staff to coordinate plumbing projects and minimize disruption to learning activities. • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance schedules for compliance and budgeting purposes.
