Lay out, position, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications • Tack-welds and welds components and assemblies using GTAW, SMAW, MIG and gas welding processes. Use plasma machine, acetylene torch, band saw and cut off machines to size material. Use pipe threading and cutting machine to prep threaded pipe. • Observes tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications. Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments. Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper. • Deciphers engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts. Identifies required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques. • Works from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc. utilizing fall protection equipment as necessary to complete tasks. • Must be able to operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, boom lifts, and skid loaders. • Work in confined spaces • Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job. • Perform other tasks, including but not limited to mechanical repairs and maintenance, as assigned by Supervisor • Ensures compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures. • Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning. • Maintain personal tools required for your job to include an up to date documented personal tool list. Position Overview: Loenbro Industrial Services Group is seeking experienced, skilled pipe fitters to join our growing team. In this position you will be responsible for planning and installing all piping systems for projects/sites as assigned. You should have ample experience in welding, joining, and installing a variety of piping systems, as well as installing manual and electric safety valves. Job Duties: • Configure pipe systems blueprint and plan piping systems layouts. • Ensure all steam, water, chemicals, or other liquids are properly adjusted prior to working on the piping system. • Precisely cut, bend, and weld metals such as carbon and stainless steel • Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials from pipes as needed. • Install piping or tubing segments securely with welding or other equipment. • Thread, weld, solder piping together. • Consult with job site management for hole placements in walls and bulkheads. • Ensure pipe sizes, hangers, supports, and joint needs for accurate flow. • Cut and alter the piping to ensure the correct sizes. • Perform trial runs and tests on pipe systems. • Repair and reinforce broken, cracked, or inadequate systems or pipes.
