Job Title: Pipefitter Company: United Trades of America Location: Houston, TX Job Description: United Trades of America is seeking experienced Pipefitters to join our team for a key project in Houston, Texas. As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, and maintaining piping systems for various construction projects, ensuring all work complies with project specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: • Assemble and install pipe systems, pipe supports, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required specifications. • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the layout and installation procedures for pipe systems. • Install and maintain pipe systems for heating, cooling, and industrial purposes. • Inspect work sites, measure, and mark pipes for cutting and threading. • Test pipe systems for leaks using pressure gauges and other equipment. • Collaborate with other team members, such as welders and project managers, to complete tasks on time. • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with local codes and regulations. Requirements: • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pipefitter in the construction or industrial sector. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings. • Familiarity with pipe materials (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, PVC) and installation techniques. • Strong knowledge of safety guidelines and OSHA regulations. • Ability to work independently and in a team setting. • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods. • High school diploma or equivalent; pipefitter certification is a plus. • Valid driver's license. Journeyman - Pipefitter

Job Summary : Responsible for the layout, assembly, installation and repair of plumbing systems. Installs these systems according to specifications and appropriate trade and building codes. Essential Duties: • Thoroughly analyze specifications, building plans, and shop drawings to identify necessary work aids and meticulously plan the installation sequence for optimal efficiency. • Ensure the work area is consistently clean and organized, strictly adhering to safety regulations to uphold the principles of 6S. Regularly inspect and utilize personal tools, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), and safety gear for a secure working environment. • Sets up equipment and welding parts using arc, submerged arc, gas-shielded arc, mig and tig machines. Helps plumbers, pipefitters, welders, sheet metal workers, or HVAC workers as needed. • Inspects the structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of the structure resulting from the installation of pipe. Lays out and marks position of pipe and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors using ruler, level, square and laser. • Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and fittings using hand and power tools. Installs sleeves and openings for roof and wall penetrations. Helps excavate, backfill and tamp ditches using shovels, picks and tampers. Helps cut, ream, solder, braze, fuse, solvent weld, groove, thread pipe and pressfittings using measuring tools, pipe cutters, torches, beveling machines, reamers, bolts, screws, fittings, alloys, gaskets, solvent cement, fusing machine, groove and pipe-threading machines. • Lays-out, positions, aligns, fits, tack-welds, assembles and installs valves, hangers, pipe and fittings composed of metals such as iron, steel, aluminum, brass, copper and nonmetals such as fiberglass and plastic using hand tools, roustabouts, grasshoppers, come-alongs, chin falls and power tools. Bends pipe by hand or with a pipe-bending machine. Fills pipe systems with water or air to determine system leaks. Installs, maintains and repairs air-conditioning and refrigeration systems including compressors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic controls and piping and similar mechanical accessories. Minimum Requirements: Possession of a High School Diploma or GED is preferred. 4+ years as a Pipefitter Journeyman preferred. Trained and qualified to operate machinery such as scissor lifts, aerial lifts, fork lifts, etc.
