This individual will work on the installation and maintenance of underground gas and water distribution piping systems. Key Responsibilities: • Construct, install, and maintain underground piping systems and equipment for natural gas and water distribution. • Join pipes using fusion, electrofusion, or mechanical coupling methods. • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and job orders to determine pipe system layout. • Cut, thread, bend, and fit pipes using hand and power tools. • Prepare sites for pipeline installation; dig trenches and level ground. • Perform QA/QC testing on pipe systems to verify compliance with standards. • Assist in installing valves, traps, drains, and other fixtures in piping systems. • Load, unload, and distribute materials and tools at job sites. • Support the safety of all team members and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies. • Identify and protect underground utilities and potential hazards during excavation. • Signal operators to align or adjust heavy machinery. • Maintain accurate records of work, inspections, and materials used. • Clean and maintain construction equipment and company vehicles. • Erect temporary structures, signage, and barriers to protect the public and crew. • Participate in ongoing safety and operator qualification training. Qualifications & Skills: • High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training in pipefitting strongly preferred. • Prior experience in gas utility or water pipeline construction is highly desirable. • Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and safety procedures. • Skilled in using pipefitting tools and heavy equipment near underground utilities. • Strong hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and adhere to a flexible schedule. • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Operator Qualifications (OQ). • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from a Foreman or Supervisor • Physical Requirements: • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs frequently and perform physically demanding tasks daily. • Able to walk, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb, twist, and stand for extended periods. • Work is primarily outdoors in extreme weather, noisy environments, and hazardous conditions. • Willingness to travel to job sites, typically within a 4-hour radius of the home office. • Must be available to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, as required by the project.
